Buckle your seat belts folks because so much has happened since my last blog post and I can't wait to tell you all about it.

Despite a hectic semester and finals schedule, I ended up finishing last semester strong, and actually received my first 4.0 GPA of college. Winter break provided some much-needed relaxation time, but I also managed to stay pretty busy during the four week hiatus. At the beginning of the break, my family came in from out of town for the holidays and stayed at my house. This might sound like an undesirable or overwhelming scenario to some, but I don't get to see this side of my family as often as I'd like to, so I loved having a week of uninterrupted time with them. After they left, I was able to kick back and relax a bit more, but I also had some work I needed to do in preparation for two pharmacy school interviews that were scheduled for the last week of my break.

Once I got back to Syracuse for the start of my final semester, I ended up finding out that I was accepted to both pharmacy schools I had interviewed at. I've since accepted one of the offers, and am really looking forward to starting in the fall. You might think that this pharmacy school acceptance would mean that I could have a more laid back final semester, but so far that has not been the case. As soon as I got back to campus, I had to start preparing for the sorority recruitment process (for anyone who might be unfamiliar with sorority recruitment or "rush", it's the time when women who have not joined a sorority yet go around to the different sororities on campus to figure out which one feels like the best fit for them). Although this may not sound like much, because I am a senior and hold a leadership position in my sorority, I definitely had a lot on my plate, especially once classes started.

Recruitment has since ended, so my schedule has gotten less crazy and now I can focus more on enjoying my final semester. In past years, I haven't had much time in my schedule to take classes outside of my majors and minors, but this semester I finally have some wiggle room. I still have to take a few science courses to round out my Biology major, but I'm also taking Beer and Wine Appreciation, which is a very stereotypical senior year class here at SU. In all, the past few weeks have flown by, so I'm hoping to slow things down from here on out and take advantage of every moment during my final weeks as a student at Syracuse University.

Below  is a photo of the seniors in my sorority before the start of recruitment:

It feels like its been 15 minutes since my last blog post. Time is just whipping by me, and the fact that Thanksgiving break starts next week has me feeling both exciting to get home and see my family, but also anxious about tying up loose ends at school before heading home. Not to mention I enroll in classes at the end of this week for my final semester ever at Syracuse (which is terrifying, exhilarating and unbelievably sad all at once)!!! But not to worry, I may sound stressed but I have plenty of fun things on the horizon. The first basketball game of the season is this Friday, and I also might venture to New York City this weekend! Plus, today is Election Day! Technically I sent in my absentee ballot last week, but this is the first election I've ever voted in, and the energy of today has been exciting nonetheless.

Moreover, last week was filled with all kinds of fun things! On Friday, the band The 1975 came to Syracuse and performed at the Carrier Dome. I'm only a moderate fan, but most of my friends are HUGE fans of theirs, so it was really fun being at the concert with all of them. My best friend from home also visted last week, and I found out I did really well on all of my midterms! In all, even though this semester has been crazy busy, I'm really happy with the balance I've achieved between my academic and personal responsibilities so far, let's hope it continues!

This semester has sped by so quickly that I can't believe midterms have already started. Since being back at school, it's been a complete whirlwind, mostly because I'm currently involved in the pharmacy application process, which has proven to be a time management challenge on top of my other coursework. Despite this, I'm really enjoying all of my courses this semester because it's the first semester that I've been able to explore outside the realm of science classes. I finished up a majority of my science requirements last year, so now I have a bit more freedom in my schedule, and it's been an exciting to try out courses outside of my comfort zone. Beyond my academic life, I've managed to stay busy with all kinds of activities. I've been attending as many of the Syracuse Football games as I can, and I've also made it to a few soccer games. When Homecoming Weekend came around, I had a blast seeing all of my friends who have since graduated. Two weekends ago, I spent the night at a "sisterhood retreat" with my sorority at a lake house about an hour away. The next day when we got back, a group of my friends and I attended the Amy Schumer comedy show at the On Center.

I'm really looking forward to a few things that I know are coming up soon as well! This weekend, my sorority is putting on our main Fall Philanthropy called "Wing It". It's a wing eating contest, and all the money we raise goes to the charity we support called CASA. I also have plans to go apple and pumpkin picking in a few weekends! Fall is my favorite time of year, and it's exciting to see the leaves on campus starting to change! In all, it's been a really fantastic start to the year, and I can't wait to see what the rest of the semester holds!
